This program is hosted by AHC and sponsored by Sport Etc. and the Brent Williams Fund with the aim of introducing new players and families to the game of hockey. The Learn to Play program is only open to new families who are not currently, or formerly, registered with AHC. This program is free of charge to participants (who must be Arlington residents), and selected equipment and sticks will be provided by Sports Etc. with support from the Brent Williams Fund.
Players must be between 5 years old (born by 10/01/2016) and 7 years old (born by 11/05/2014) to participate in this program.
This program will take place on Fridays, beginning in October.
All sessions will take place at Ed Burns Rink in Arlington, MA.
Each session is 50 minutes and will begin with a short warm-up, followed by 15 - 20 minutes of skills practice, and 20 minutes of small area games.
This program is for beginning skaters, ages 5 - 7, that would like to try hockey and learn to play the game. While the program is hosted by AHC, it is sponsored by Sports Etc. and the Brent Williams Fund, which will provide select equipment free of charge, and open for enrollment to new families that are not currently (or formerly) registered in AHC.
Participation in this program is free of charge, however, each player must register with USA Hockey, for a player born before 2015 there is no charge, after 2015 carries a minimal fee. The program enrollment is limited to 25 players. It is our hope that participants in this program will enjoy the sport enough to matriculate into AHC's Instructional or Developmental programs.
This program is for Arlington residents only.
