Instructional Intro to Hockey

The purpose of this program is to teach the fundamentals of hockey and to develop beginner level hockey players by focusing on skating and skills development, confidence building, having fun, and developing an appreciation for team play.  Players do not need to know how to skate to participate in the program, or may have only been skating for a year or two before enrolling in the program.

Ages

AHC's Instructional Program is intended for beginning players between 4 and 7 years of age.

Schedule

This program meets on Saturdays beginning November 5 and runs into March. Depending on the size of the program, sessions will be offered at 8:50AM, and, or, 11:50AM on Saturdays.

Games/ Practices

Each session is organized into stations that teach different skating and hockey skills based on USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM). Often the stations include small games that are played at a station for a portion of the session.

Intended for 4- to 7-year-old children interested in exploring the sport of hockey, this is an 18-week program which will meet on Saturday mornings from approximately November through March
